What the latest update does to your background and how to change it

Many people have expressed concern about a recent unprompted change from the standard white background,

with some claiming that the darker screen makes it difficult to read the captions. People have been opening Instagram this week to discover that the app has gone black.

Many people have expressed concern about a recent unprompted change from the standard white background, with some claiming that the darker screen makes it difficult to read the captions.

Here's what you can do if your Instagram has automatically switched to dark mode. The modification appears to be related to the most recent update.

Instagram is testing a new home screen, which CEO Adam Mosseri discussed last month. The switch automatically darkens the background and increases the size of the posts.

In an effort to make the app more immersive and video-friendly, they are now laid out in a 9:16 ratio and take up most, if not all, of your screen.

We're starting to experiment with a test in which both photos and videos take up more space on your screen.

"We know that the future of videos and photos are mobile-first, 9:16, and immersive, so you'll see us testing out taller photos and taller videos in your feed."

Mr Mosseri also stated that the test will most likely last a few weeks and asked users to provide feedback.

How can I reverse it? The color of Instagram's background cannot currently be changed within the app if you have an iPhone.

It usually mirrors your device's settings, which means that if your phone is in light mode, the background is white, and if it is in dark mode, the background is black.

Check the display and brightness settings on your phone to see if you are in light or dark mode. technozive.com
