No more free content on Netflix! Customers to pay ‘extra’ for sharing passwords

Netflix is experimenting with technology to stop password sharing and attract consumers pay more for additional accounts

If you are a kind user and share your Netflix account with a friend or coworker, the cost of your Netflix subscription is set to go up

As part increased push to get rogue subscribers to pay up, Netflix will start charging customers for password sharing early in the next year

In a letter to investors, Netflix promised that "additional member" subaccounts would be made available by the start of 2023

"In countries with our lower-priced ad-supported plan, we expect the profile transfer option for borrowers to be especially popular" OTT platform said

The company did not provide the cost of these new additional account fees when it confirmed the proposal on Tuesday

Netflix has repeatedly experimented with trying to crack down on password sharing users
