The Day Before appeared out of nowhere and quickly went viral thanks to a brief gameplay demonstration.

gameplay appears to be a cross between Ubisoft's The Division and Naughty Dog's The Last of Us - a zombie survival game where other players are just as dangerous as the flesh-eating hordes.

It's the most wanted game on Steam, with over 100,000 people adding it to their wishlist. Open-world, Survival, and Excellent production values.

The Day Before is a bold project from a developer few have heard of. So far, all of the 'gameplay' videos that have been released have been heavily scripted.

It's the video game equivalent of one of those viral videos in which someone throws a basketball backward from across the court and it lands in the basket.

You know it's all a sham and it probably took 1000 attempts to get the footage. These unpaid workers perform tasks ranging from translation to community moderation.

It is the work of Fantastic, an unproven developer best known for the Dead by Daylight clone Propnight.

The game is being built by an army of unpaid volunteers, according to the developer's own website. This means that every member of Fantastic is a volunteer.

"Fantastic has two types of volunteers: full-time and part-time," the website states. " Full-time volunteers are paid, and their numbers are limited. "

There are currently no open positions if you click on the link to apply for a paid job. However, you can sign up as a part-time volunteer to receive rewards, certificates, and free codes."

You can also contribute your "unique skills to improve our projects or develop new special features."
