In the long-awaited sequel to the Halloween classic, the witches return.

When Disney released the family-friendly horror-comedy Hocus Pocus in 1993, audiences were not immediately captivated.

But, like the film's central trio of witchy sisters, the film found a second life on home video and cable, not to mention among cosplayers and drag performers.

After years of speculation, fan campaigns, and public prodding from its stars, the film is finally getting a sequel.

The presence of the original cast is likely to be enough for Hocus Pocus fans to make the sequel a must-see.

When is Hocus Pocus 2 coming out? It'll be available on Disney+ on September 30th, just in time for Halloween.

It is now up to three high school students to prevent the ravenous witches from wreaking new havoc on Salem before dawn on Halloween.

Whitney Peak, star of HBO Max's Gossip Girl reboot, and two relative unknowns, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo, play the adolescent protagonists this time around.

Sam Richardson plays the owner of a Salem magic shop, while Tony Hale plays the Mayor of Salem. Most intriguingly, Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham is also in the cast, playing 'the Witch.'

In a nod to the franchise's specific cultural impact over the last three decades, Ginger Minj, Kornbread Jeté, and Kahmora Hall will play drag versions of the Sanderson sisters.

'While the original Hocus Pocus was shot in Salem, Massachusetts, the sequel was shot in Providence, Rhode Island, about 90 minutes south.
