mystery as rumors suggest what the next Grand Theft Auto game will entail

A new leak about the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series, presumably called GTA 6, suggests that it will support cryptocurrency.

The sequel to GTA 5 is expected to be a significant departure from its record-breaking predecessor, with a release date of either 2023 or 2024.

the introduction of cryptocurrencies could take the form of an in-game token that players can earn and spend, which could also potentially be traded for other well-established crypto like bitcoin.

It could usher in play-to-earn games, which the founder of Reddit predicts will account for 90% of the gaming market within the next five years.

A separate rumour suggests that GTA 6 will be set in Colombia, Cuba, and Miami, a significant departure from previous single-city games such as the Los Santos-inspired Los Santos.

GTA 6 is arguably the most anticipated video game in history, with fans anticipating it for nearly a decade since the release of GTA 5 in 2013.

Rockstar Games made the first official announcement earlier this year that a sequel to GTA 5 is in the works,

With GTA V's unprecedented longevity, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," the company wrote on its website.

Our goal with each new project is to significantly outperform what we have previously delivered. We are pleased to confirm that active development is ongoing.

"There is still no word on a release date, though Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, has dropped some hints."
