A trendy smartwatch with a robust health monitoring feature.
The Amazfit GTR 2 is offering you a ton of features for your money. It looks fantastic, provides decent fitness monitoring, and has now improved its ability to work outside of tracking or sleep with two smart assistants and a music player. It will also give you more battery life than its close-priced rivals. It’s obviously not ideal, and its sport monitoring is for casual folk workouts only. If you like the concept of a smartwatch that does the fundamentals correctly, it’s one to try out.

Amazfit GTR 2 offers Android and iOS-friendly smartphones that are considerably less costly than the purchasing of the existing Apples or Samsung Galaxies.
It has several features on which you would have expected to pay more money. This includes a high-quality AMOLED touch screen interface and belts you can cut to change out and select new ones. This consists of high-quality material.
It comes in two style options, all of which offer the same fitness and non-fitness characteristics. You’ll have integrated GPS and a heart rate tracker on 24/24 and 7/24. Blood oxygen measurements can also be used to obtain an extra fitness blow. It also acts as a fitness tracker and this is one of its main strengths.
It’s a good fit to record steps and sleep as well as serious sports monitoring. It also offers limited support for smartwatch features and is tailored for its wide AMOLED touch screen. In Amazon Alexa and Huami’s own offline voice assistant, there are two smart assistants. Although we just have the above to function correctly. You also get an optimized 3GB storage music player to move your music to your own. However, subscription options are not available.
Amazfit GTR 2: design and display
- Comes in classic and sporting models
- 1.3-inch AMOLED panel, always visible
- Up to 50-meter water resistance
- Silicon straps or leather straps
You get a really appealing smartwatch from the GTR 2 for not a lot of money. It looks much cleaner than the first GTR and is much more pleasant on the handle as well. The Sport and Classic choices that offer both aluminum (Sport) and stainless steel (Classic) cases are your preference. They both have 46mm cases with two physical buttons and a complete tactile screen. The sport we were forced to try is weighing fewer grams and typically did not feel uneasy or irritating to wear.
This case has 22mm straps and is fitted with silicon (which we had) and leather and has a fairly regular clock buckle clasp. The good news is even if you’re not a fan, it’s fun and simple, but we’re very pleased with our silicone bunch. Always good to know, though, that you can mix things.
Smartwatch features for Amazfit GTR 2
- Functions for Android and iOS
- Music player built-in
- Blood-oxygen Saturation Measurement.
- Sleep Quality Monitoring
- Heart Rate Monitoring
The GTR 2 has more features than the Fitbit GTR and comes with two smart assistants. Amazon Alexa works offline but we couldn’t get it to work on the watch itself. There’s a 3GB music player with enough room for anything from 300-600 songs in MP3 format. There are a number of watch faces to choose from to show off fitness data and run track. It works with Android and iOS devices and is optimized for display.
It’s not the most complete experience, but it does the basics well enough and is a competent smartwatch for its price. The watch has a screen resolution of 1.2 inches (2.5 meters) and works with both Android and iPhone 5.
It has a built-in 3GB of storage and can play music from any Bluetooth-enabled phone or iPod Touch. It also has a pedometer, alarm clock, and fitness tracking function.
Amazfit GTR 2: battery life
- Up to 14 days battery life
- 38 days in basic mode
The 471mAh battery Amazfit GTR 2 can deliver 14 days of regular operation. For fundamental use, the watch has the ability to go much faster for seven days. It would take you at least 2.5 hours if it’s running out to get 0-100%. To get back to the full battery faster, there is no fast charge service. If you’re able to play and don’t care about holding your heart’s tabs or sleeping insights, you’ll have every opportunity to get out of it for a couple of weeks. The watch is in black only.
Amazfit GTR 2: fitness
- 24/7 activity tracking
- SpO2 sensor
- PAI Health scores
- 12 sports modes
Huami’s GTR 2 is a fitness and sports watch with built-in sensors. It has 24/7 activity tracking, sleep monitoring, stress tracking, and heart rate monitoring. There are 12 sports modes for running, cycling, swimming, and skiing. The watch is inaccurate for GPS-based distance tracking on most of our runs and struggled with heart rate data.
It does a good job of recognizing sleep duration and when we fell asleep, but some issues with heart-related REM sleep tracking were noted. It’s a good value for the money, but the PPG sensor is a pain to use when it comes to heart rate and blood oxygen measurements.
